What kind of physical therapy methods are utilized?

Our physical therapists have over 30 years of experience treating a wide range of conditions and need states, including but not limited to pain due to orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions, stroke-related disabilities, tendonitis, arthritis, and more.

At our clinic, we utilize a variety of equipment and specialized techniques to design the most effective treatment plans. Some of our treatments include electrical stimulation, ultrasound, therapeutic procedures, neuromuscular re-education, posture training, fall prevention, balance coordination, manual therapy, cupping, therapeutic exercises, and more.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to promote healing, relieve pain, and restore balance. It is one of the oldest healing practices in the world and has been increasingly integrated into modern medical and rehabilitative care — including physical therapy — for its therapeutic benefits.

At our clinic, acupuncture is used as a complementary treatment to support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries, manage chronic pain, reduce inflammation, and improve overall function.

Is acupuncture safe?

When performed by a licensed and properly trained practitioner, acupuncture is considered a safe and low-risk treatment. In New York State, acupuncture is regulated by the Department of Education’s Office of the Professions, and all acupuncturists must be licensed. Our acupuncturists are not only licensed but also have over 25 years of experience.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most insurance, including but not limited to: Anthem, United Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. If you have specific questions regarding your insurance, please call us at (718) 353-3836.

Do you provide treatment for auto accident and worker’s compensation injuries?

We are not a no-fault clinic - however, we are happy to provide physical therapy services to patients who have suffered auto and worker’s compensation injuries under their own insurance, provided they have a referring doctor’s recommendation.

How many sessions will I need and how long is each visit?

Treatment time and session length varies by patient and condition; however, generally each visit comprises ~1 hour.

At our clinic, we are committed to providing the best quality care possible. To that end, treatment times can be longer if necessary.

What if I don’t have insurance?

We do treat patients with no insurance as well; however, those patients will need to pay an upfront out-of-pocket cash fee for treatment. Please call us for more details.

Do I need a referring physician’s recommendation?

Yes, we do require a referral from your physician to render physical therapy services. However, no such referral is required for only acupuncture treatment.
