About Us

With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Daniel Seong Shik Kang, M.S., P.T., L.Ac. brings a unique, integrative approach to patient care—blending the precision of Western physical therapy with the time-honored practices of traditional Oriental medicine.

Daniel is a New York State licensed physical therapist and licensed acupuncturist, holding dual degrees that reflect his commitment to comprehensive, evidence-informed care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Long Island University in 1989, followed by a B.S. in Physical Therapy from New York University in 1994. He later completed a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2002, deepening his expertise in acupuncture and herbal therapy.

He is nationally board-certified by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), both in Acupuncture and as a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology.

Daniel’s clinical background spans some of New York’s most respected healthcare institutions. He spent over a decade at New York Hospital of Queens, worked with individuals with developmental disabilities at the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, and has served the community through the Visiting Nurse Service of New York for more than 20 years—gaining deep insight into rehabilitative care across hospital, outpatient, and home-based settings.

Fluent in both English and Korean, Daniel is deeply committed to accessible, culturally competent care.

His treatment methods reflect the full spectrum of his training. He employs a wide range of conventional physical therapy techniques—including manual therapy, kinesio-therapy, electrical stimulation, cupping, and ultrasound—alongside traditional Chinese acupuncture to promote recovery, reduce pain, and restore physical balance.

Daniel’s practice philosophy is rooted in individualized treatment, functional recovery, and holistic well-being. Whether addressing orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, or stress-related conditions, his dual training allows for a tailored, whole-person approach to healing.
